Regional Secretary

Brother Jermaine Colon

Brother Colon hails from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and graduated from Cheyney University with a degree in Music Performance. He was initiated by Chi Omega (Philadelphia, PA) in the Fall of 2014. Currently, he is Chi Omega’s 2nd Vice Polaris, VP of the NPHC of Southeastern, PA, and is a member of the Urban League of Philadelphia. Professionally, Brother Colon is a bank manager in the Philadelphia area. Brother Colon now serves as our Regional Secretary after successfully holding the same role in his Chapter.

Brother Nathaniel Seldon

This Brother was a member of the reactivation line at William Paterson University, Beta Alpha Chapter, back in the Fall of 2010. He immediately proved his leadership abilities and held multiple positions throughout his tenure at William Paterson. While Chapter Polaris Brother Seldon helped Beta Alpha win it’s first Chapter award in over 15 years. He is now an active member of Zeta Omega, in Atlantic City, NJ, where he was also born and raised. Today, he works for the Department of Child Protection and Permanency for the State of New Jersey.

Community Service Coordinator

Brother Gary Washington

I’ve never met a person more dedicated to and enthused about community service. Anyone who follows him on social media, knows how important community service is to this Bother. Brother Washington was initiated in the Summer of 2011, by way of Pi Omega in New York City. He has quickly become a prominent member of Pi Omega and has the hardware to prove it. Most recently, Brother Washington won the ACR’s Alumni Brother of the Year Award. This Bronx native has a Bachelors in Communications from the College of New Rochelle. Right now, he is a Supervisor for Fedcap/Wildcat.

Intake & Expansion Coordinator

Brother Marquies Brown

Born and raised in Newark, NJ, Brother Brown went to New Jersey City University and was initiated in the Spring of 2006, via Epsilon Chapter. Over the past 11 years, he has developed a strong reputation while serving his State, Region and Fraternity, all with much success. Brother Brown has climbed the ranks; first, being the NJ Step Coordinator, to, Regional Secretary, NJ State Director and now our Intake and Expansion Coordinator. His past experiences, knowledge, and comprehension of the Fraternity Bylaws and Ceremonies puts Brother Brown in this position at the right time. Earlier this year, he moved to South Jersey and continues to be an active member of Alpha Xi Omega. Currently, he serves as the Chapter’s Sgt. at Arms and is on multiple Chapter Committees. Brother Brown is an Assistant Manager for T-Mobile in Cherry Hill, NJ.

Graduate Affairs Coordinator

Brother Ike Ejikeme

Another Brother from Epsilon Chapter, Brother Ejikeme became an Iota in the Fall of 2013. Shortly after his initiation, Brother Ejikeme transferred to Stockton University in Galloway Twp., NJ, becoming a member of the Alpha Alpha Chapter. He has already completed his undergraduate requirements and is currently working on his Master’s in Criminal Justice, concentration in Homeland Security. While at Stockton, he served as the Chapter President while also achieving and holding positions with the University and Student Government. He was the first graduate student, first transfer student and second African-American to be the Student Trustee for the University Board of Trustees. Brother Ejikeme has compiled an impressive resume since becoming a Brother. Two of the awards he’s won were Stockton University’s Greek Leader of Distinction (2016) and the ACR’s Brother of the Year Award (2017). Currently, he is a member of Zeta Omega, Southern New Jersey Graduate Chapter. This summer he will be in D.C. for an internship with the United States Department of Transportation as a Research Analyst.

Brother Schalor Blackshear

Originally from Sicklerville, NJ, Brother Blackshear attended Kean University, Beta Xi, and became an Iota in the Spring of 2014. In his last year, he served as Beta Xi’s Polaris and improved his leadership and communication abilities. While a student, he was inducted into the Epsilon Epsilon Omega Honor Society. He graduated from Kean University in May, 2016 with a degree in Psychology. He is now a graduate student at Rutgers University, Camden, pursuing a Masters in Public Administration. Currently, Brother Blackshear is serving in the United States Army National Guard.

Web Design Coordinator

Brother Brian Demorcy

Our Web Architect is from Jersey City, NJ and attended Bloomfield College in Bloomfield, NJ. Brother Demorcy graduated from Bloomfield College in 2016 with a Bachelors in Creative Arts & Technology. He become a Brother of Iota Phi Theta through the Eta Mu Chapter in the Spring of 2012. During his tenure, Brother Demorcy held numerous E-board positions including Vice Polaris and Polaris. Some of his accomplishments include the ACR’s Brother of the Year Award and Gamma Zeta Omega Graduate Chapter’s Leadership Award. Currently, he is attending New Jersey City University for his second Bachelors in Computer Science. His professional career ranges from software engineering, to, web design and both desktop and mobile applications. Brother Demorcy is currently employed by The Shark Group as a Junior Designer and is the Founder and Head of Design of IotaMerch.

Brother Javier Mendez

One of two undergraduates holding a Regional Position, Brother Mendez is the youngest Brother on The Board. Born and raised in Camden, NJ, he fought his way through adversity and now attends Rutgers University, New Brunswick, where he’s a double major in Information Technology & Informatics and Latino & Hispanic Caribbean Studies. Let’s not forget about the minor in Health Administration. Brother Mendez was initiated this spring, 2017, by way of Alpha Psi. He works for the Rutgers iTV Studio and is also an intern for the Big Ten Network StudentU. This previous semester, he was inducted into the Mu Chapter of Chi Alpha Epsilon National Honor Society. In his down time, Brother Mendez updates his personal website and records music.

Social Media & Marketing Coordinator

Brother Tunde Adeyina

He is the second undergraduate to hold a position on this Regional Board. Like Brother Mendez, Brother Adeyina is also from Alpha Psi, initiated in the Spring of 2016. He is from Burlington, NJ and is majoring in both Photography and Design. Currently, Brother Adeyina is Alpha Psi’s Vice Polaris. He joins our team having shown great ability in photography, video editing, graphic design and marketing. His talents will be utilized to maximize our social media presence and to create marketing materials. In his down time, Brother Adeyina likes ‘shooting flics’ and going on road trips.

Regional Step & Stroll Coordinator

Brother DeWayne Myrick

This “non-traditional college student” first attended Middlesex Community College before transferring to Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ. He comes from North Brunswick, NJ and now lives in South Jersey. In November, 2013, Brother Myrick became an Iota via Phi Chapter. During his undergraduate career, he was a peer mentor and held multiple positions for his Chapter, including Vice President. He preaches precision and enthusiasm, and has performed in over a dozen competitions or shows. Brother Myrick graduated form Rowan University in 2015 and is now a member of Zeta Omega. He is a co-founder of an aspiring non-profit organization who once fed over 400 homeless men and women in the Newark, NJ area.

Massachusetts State Director

Brother Jontai McClain

He hails from the Bronx, NY and graduated from The State University of New York at Canton in 2014 with a Bachelor’s in Technology, concentration in Graphic Multimedia Design and two minors in Women’s Studies and Digital Communication. He joined Iota in the Spring of 2015 through Pi Omega Alumni Chapter, by way of Omicron and Chi Chapters. After his initiation, he moved from New York to became a permanent resident of Mass. Brother McClain brings experience, being the Massachusetts State Director last year and already begun the process of reactivating multiple Chapters. Professionally, he works for Brigham & Women’s Hospital as an Audiovisual Technician. On the side, he likes to dabble in photography, writing music, videography and graphic design, just to name a few.

Connecticut State Director

Brother Anthony Reid

This Hartford, CT native attended the University of Connecticut (UConn) where he received his degree in Psychology. He was initiated into Iota Phi Theta through the Zeta Theta Chapter in the Spring of 2011. Throughout his time in Zeta Theta, he held every E-board position while also being the only undergraduate representative to serve on Iota Phi Theta’s National Historian Committee. Brother Reid comes to us already having experience as the Connecticut State Director. He is a proud member of the Tau Omega Graduate Chapter. Since 2012 he has won the ACR All-Star Award 2x, and the local NPHC Man of the Year Award.

New York State Director

Brother Jarius Jemmott

He is the first member of his family to obtain a Bachelors degree. Brother Jemmott is from the Bronx, NY and attended University at Albany, SUNY. He graduated this past weekend with a Bachelors in Information Technology with a concentration in Cyber Security. This Brother’s undergraduate resume is impressive. First, he became an Iota in the Spring of 2013 and represented the Delta Rho Chapter tremendously. During his tenure, he was Chapter Polaris, NPHC President, Greek Council President, Student Association President & CEO, and Chairman of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee. Brother Jemmott currently works as a Product Specialists w/ Apple, Inc. He successfully transitioned and is now a member of the Pi Omega Graduate Chapter in New York City.

Eastern Pennsylvania State Director

Brother Randy Hill

Experience won’t be an issue here. Brother Randy Hill has served on multiple Regional Boards and continues to be our EPSD. Brother Hill became an Iota at West Virginia University, Gamma Epsilon Chapter, in Spring 2000. He graduated from WVU in 2003 with a Bachelors in Marketing, Minor in Communication. After leaving WVU, he worked for Enterprise Rent-A-Car for 9 years where he won numerous sales awards and moved up the corporate ladder. Now, he works in the Trauma Sector for Stryker Orthopedics. Since coming back to NJ, he has joined the Chi Omega Graduate Chapter in Philadelphia, where he once served as Chapter Polaris. To this day he continues to be the Phi Chapter Grad Advisor because of a vow he made to Brother Ted Stephens. Recently, he welcomed his newborn baby girl, Olivia, into the world with his wife, Jen. Temporarily, Brother Hill will be assisting the Region with Western Pennsylvania as well.

Northern New Jersey State Director

Brother Wesley Gittens

Born and raised in Trenton, NJ, Brother Gittens now lives in Parsippany, NJ. He works for Saint-Gobain in Wayne, NJ, as a Quality Engineer. Initiated in the Spring of 2010, Brother Gittens became a prominent figure of the Epsilon Tau Chapter at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). During his collegiate career, he was Chapter President and a member of the National Society of Black Engineers, just to name a few. He graduated from NJIT in January 2015 with a Bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering. He is the first member of his family to obtain a college degree. He is an active member of his Graduate Chapter, Alpha Xi Omega. Brother Gittens will oversee Epsilon, Beta Alpha, Beta Xi, Gamma Iota, Delta Iota, Epsilon Lambda, Epsilon Tau, Eta Mu, Gamma Zeta Omega and Phi Omega Chapters.

Southern New Jersey State Director

Brother Lekan Sumonu

Originally from Burlington, NJ, Brother Sumonu attended Rutgers University, New Brunswick. He earned his Bachelor’s in both Criminal Justice and Sociology. He became an Iota through the Alpha Psi Chapter in the Spring of 2014. During his an undergraduate career, he served as the Chapter’s Recruitment Chair, Step & Stroll Coordinator and Membership Intake Coordinator. With his busy schedule, he still had time to accept and fulfill an internship with New Jersey’s Department of Homeland Security. Upon graduation, Brother Sumonu became Alpha Psi’s Academic/Graduate Advisor where he produced some impressive results.Currently, he’s a proud member of the Alpha Xi Omega Graduate Chapter. Professionally, he’s attending a law enforcement academy and is employed with the NJTPD, charged with the prevention and deterrence of crime and terrorism. Brother Sumonu will oversee Phi, Alpha Alpha, Alpha Delta, Alpha Psi, Alpha Xi Omega and Zeta Omega Chapters.
